STANDING ORDER
To
All Excise Superintendents,
Subject: Dealing in excisable articles by dealers under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909 (West Bengal Act 5 of 1909), the Environment Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to dealing in excisable articles by dealers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer carrying on dealing in excisable articles shall make an application in Form F to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. The Excise Superintendent shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of West Bengal.
