STANDING ORDER
To
All Nautical Surveyors,
Subject: The pilotage of vessels by pilots of a port under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1995), the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the pilotage of vessels by pilots of a port.
2. The matter has been examined. Every pilot of a port carrying on the pilotage of vessels shall make an application in Form 3 to the Government of Tamil Nadu within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. The Nautical Surveyor shall ensure that log book is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Tamil Nadu within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
