STANDING ORDER

All Electrical Inspectors,

Subject: The execution of electrical installation work by electrical contractors under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003 (Gujarat Act 24 of 2003), the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of electrical installation work by electrical contractors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every electrical contractor carrying on the execution of electrical installation work shall make an application in Form VII to the Authority within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Electrical Inspector shall ensure that cylinder is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Authority within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Gujarat.
