STANDING ORDER

To

All Divisional Canal Officers,

Subject: The bottling of water by bottlers of water under the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003 (Kerala Act 31 of 2003), the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the bottling of water by bottlers of water.

2. The matter has been examined. Every bottler of water carrying on the bottling of water shall make an application in Form A to the Dam Safety Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Divisional Canal Officer shall ensure that source of water is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Dam Safety Authority within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Kerala.
