STANDING ORDER

To

All Patwaris,

Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954 (West Bengal Act 1 of 1954), the Revenue Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 5 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Patwari shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of West Bengal.
