STANDING ORDER

All Deputy Commissioners,

Subject: The running of an institution for persons with disabilities by institutions for persons with disabilities under the Maharashtra State Reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Act, 2018, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra State Reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Act, 2018 (Maharashtra Act 62 of 2018), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of an institution for persons with disabilities by institutions for persons with disabilities.

2. The matter has been examined. Every institution for persons with disabilities carrying on the running of an institution for persons with disabilities shall make an application in Form IV to the Government of Maharashtra within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Deputy Commissioner shall ensure that hostel is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Maharashtra within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra.
