STANDING ORDER

To

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land under the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 12 of 1964), the Law Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every allottee of surplus land carrying on the holding of allotted surplus land shall make an application in Form 5 to the Land Tribunal within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Land Tribunal within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
