STANDING ORDER

To

All Conservation Assistants,

Subject: The guiding of tourists by tourist guides under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005 (Kerala Act 8 of 2005), the Tourism Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the guiding of tourists by tourist guides.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tourist guide carrying on the guiding of tourists shall make an application in Form V to the Heritage Committee within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Conservation Assistant shall ensure that art treasure is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Heritage Committee within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Kerala.
