STANDING ORDER

To

All Irrigation Inspectors,

Subject: The execution of canal works by contractors for canal works under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954 (Rajasthan Act 21 of 1954), the Water Resources Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of canal works by contractors for canal works.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor for canal works carrying on the execution of canal works shall make an application in Form C to the Irrigation Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Irrigation Inspector shall ensure that reservoir is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Irrigation Authority within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Rajasthan.
