STANDING ORDER

To

All Child Welfare Officers,

Subject: The temporary care of a child by a fit person by fit persons under the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1982), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the temporary care of a child by a fit person by fit persons.

2. The matter has been examined. Every fit person carrying on the temporary care of a child by a fit person shall make an application in Form II to the Committee within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Child Welfare Officer shall ensure that protection order is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Committee within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Karnataka.
