STANDING ORDER

To

All Tahsildars,

Subject: The taking of a mortgage of agricultural land by mortgagees of agricultural land under the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950 (Bihar Act 30 of 1950), the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the taking of a mortgage of agricultural land by mortgagees of agricultural land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every mortgagee of agricultural land carrying on the taking of a mortgage of agricultural land shall make an application in Form 14 to the Board of Revenue within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that register of holdings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Revenue within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Bihar.
