STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Inland Vessels,

Subject: The operation of a fishing vessel by owners of a fishing vessel under the Maharashtra Maritime Board Act, 1996, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Maritime Board Act, 1996 (Maharashtra Act 10 of 1996), the Ports Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a fishing vessel by owners of a fishing vessel.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a fishing vessel carrying on the operation of a fishing vessel shall make an application in Form 4 to the Director-General within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Registrar of Inland Vessels shall ensure that vessel is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director-General within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Maharashtra.
