STANDING ORDER

To

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 (Odisha Act 16 of 1960), the Law Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 5 to the Settlement Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that parcel of land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Odisha.
