STANDING ORDER

To

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The taking of a mortgage of agricultural land by mortgagees of agricultural land under the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 (Odisha Act 16 of 1960), the Education Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the taking of a mortgage of agricultural land by mortgagees of agricultural land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every mortgagee of agricultural land carrying on the taking of a mortgage of agricultural land shall make an application in Form 8 to the Settlement Officer within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that certificate of occupancy is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Education Department, Government of Odisha.
