STANDING ORDER

To

All Revenue Inspectors,

Subject: The conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands under the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 (Odisha Act 16 of 1960), the General Administration Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person converting agricultural land carrying on the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use shall make an application in Form 8 to the Settlement Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that demand notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Odisha.
