STANDING ORDER

All Building Inspectors,

Subject: The keeping of a lodging house by owners of a lodging house under the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1976), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a lodging house by owners of a lodging house.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a lodging house carrying on the keeping of a lodging house shall make an application in Form G to the Director of Municipal Administration within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Building Inspector shall ensure that hoarding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Municipal Administration within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Gujarat.
