STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Superintending Archaeologists,

Subject: Photography at a protected monument by holders of a photography permit under the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1966), the Tourism Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to photography at a protected monument by holders of a photography permit.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of a photography permit carrying on photography at a protected monument shall make an application in Form II to the Competent Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Deputy Superintending Archaeologist shall ensure that conservation plan is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Competent Authority within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
