STANDING ORDER

To

All Seed Inspectors,

Subject: The production of certified seed by seed producers under the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1961 (Maharashtra Act 24 of 1961), the Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the production of certified seed by seed producers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every seed producer carrying on the production of certified seed shall make an application in Form F to the Seed Certification Agency within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Seed Inspector shall ensure that sample is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Seed Certification Agency within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra.
