STANDING ORDER

All Forest Officers,

Subject: The treatment of waste by operators of a waste treatment facility under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Forest Act, 1961 (Kerala Act 4 of 1961), the Finance Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the treatment of waste by operators of a waste treatment facility.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a waste treatment facility carrying on the treatment of waste shall make an application in Form VI to the State Board within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. The Forest Officer shall ensure that waste manifest is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Board within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Kerala.
