STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistant Engineers,

Subject: The operation of a lift irrigation scheme by owners of a lift irrigation scheme under the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002 (Kerala Act 19 of 2002), the Water Resources Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a lift irrigation scheme by owners of a lift irrigation scheme.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a lift irrigation scheme carrying on the operation of a lift irrigation scheme shall make an application in Form H to the Tribunal within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Engineer shall ensure that tube well is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tribunal within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Kerala.
