STANDING ORDER

To

All Patwaris,

Subject: The cultivation of land as tenant by tenants under the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950 (Bihar Act 30 of 1950), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as tenant by tenants.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the cultivation of land as tenant shall make an application in Form 5 to the Tahsildar within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Patwari shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Bihar.
