STANDING ORDER

To

All registering authorities,

Subject: The driving of a motor vehicle by drivers under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985 (Kerala Act 21 of 1985), the Transport Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the driving of a motor vehicle by drivers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every driver carrying on the driving of a motor vehicle shall make an application in Form 2 to the Government of Kerala within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The registering authority shall ensure that trip sheet is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Kerala within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Kerala.
