STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistant Labour Commissioners,

Subject: The employment of building workers by employers of building workers under the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946 (Maharashtra Act 11 of 1946), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the employment of building workers by employers of building workers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employer of building workers carrying on the employment of building workers shall make an application in Form VIII to the Labour Commissioner within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Assistant Labour Commissioner shall ensure that muster roll is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Labour Commissioner within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra.
