STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistant Labour Commissioners,

Subject: The running of a motor transport undertaking by owners of a motor transport undertaking under the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946 (Maharashtra Act 11 of 1946), the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a motor transport undertaking by owners of a motor transport undertaking.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a motor transport undertaking carrying on the running of a motor transport undertaking shall make an application in Form II to the Licensing Officer within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Assistant Labour Commissioner shall ensure that notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Officer within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra.
