STANDING ORDER

All Tahsildars,

Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1983), the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 7 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that map is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
