STANDING ORDER

All Block Development Officers,

Subject: The running of a village bus stand by licensees of a village bus stand under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a village bus stand by licensees of a village bus stand.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a village bus stand carrying on the running of a village bus stand shall make an application in Form 8 to the Gram Panchayat within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Block Development Officer shall ensure that building is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Gram Panchayat within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal.
