STANDING ORDER

To

All Licensing Officers,

Subject: The publication of books by publishers of books under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984 (Tamil Nadu Act 7 of 1984), the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the publication of books by publishers of books.

2. The matter has been examined. Every publisher of books carrying on the publication of books shall make an application in Form III to the Advisory Panel within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Licensing Officer shall ensure that programme is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Advisory Panel within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
