STANDING ORDER

To

All Engineer and Ship Surveyors,

Subject: The operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981 (Gujarat Act 30 of 1981), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a ferry carrying on the operation of a ferry shall make an application in Form 1 to the Port Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Engineer and Ship Surveyor shall ensure that berth is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Port Authority within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Gujarat.
