STANDING ORDER

To

All Insurance Inspectors,

Subject: Domestic work for wages by domestic workers under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978 (Kerala Act 20 of 1978), the Labour Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to domestic work for wages by domestic workers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every domestic worker carrying on domestic work for wages shall make an application in Form 16 to the appropriate Government within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Insurance Inspector shall ensure that benefit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the appropriate Government within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Kerala.
