STANDING ORDER
To
All Junior Engineers,
Subject: The use of water for industry by users of water for industry under the Karnataka Irrigation Act, 1965, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Irrigation Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 16 of 1965), the Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the use of water for industry by users of water for industry.
2. The matter has been examined. Every user of water for industry carrying on the use of water for industry shall make an application in Form H to the Dam Safety Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.
3. The Junior Engineer shall ensure that canal is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Dam Safety Authority within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka.
