STANDING ORDER

All Environmental Engineers,

Subject: The collection of biological resources by collectors of biological resources under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Forest Act, 1961 (Kerala Act 4 of 1961), the Housing Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the collection of biological resources by collectors of biological resources.

2. The matter has been examined. Every collector of biological resources carrying on the collection of biological resources shall make an application in Form IV to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Environmental Engineer shall ensure that monitoring report is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of Kerala.
