STANDING ORDER

To

All Shipping Masters,

Subject: The working of a wharf by owners of a wharf under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981 (Gujarat Act 30 of 1981), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a wharf by owners of a wharf.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a wharf carrying on the working of a wharf shall make an application in Form 7 to the Mercantile Marine Department within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Shipping Master shall ensure that vessel is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Mercantile Marine Department within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat.
