STANDING ORDER

To

All Estate Officers,

Subject: The running of a private hostel by operators of a hostel for tenants under the Tamil Nadu Housing Board Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board Act, 1961 (Tamil Nadu Act 17 of 1961), the Housing Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a private hostel by operators of a hostel for tenants.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a hostel for tenants carrying on the running of a private hostel shall make an application in Form E to the Adjudicating Officer within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Estate Officer shall ensure that agreement for sale is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Adjudicating Officer within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
