STANDING ORDER
To
All Excise Superintendents,
Subject: The cultivation of hemp under licence by cultivators of hemp under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of hemp under licence by cultivators of hemp.
2. The matter has been examined. Every cultivator of hemp carrying on the cultivation of hemp under licence shall make an application in Form D to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. The Excise Superintendent shall ensure that cask is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Punjab.
