STANDING ORDER
To
All Village Accountants,
Subject: The occupation of land by occupants under the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948 (Maharashtra Act 67 of 1948), the Revenue Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of land by occupants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every occupant carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 5 to the Collector within seven days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that mutation is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Collector within seven days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Maharashtra.
