STANDING ORDER

To

All Drugs Inspectors,

Subject: The running of a blood bank by blood banks under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949 (Maharashtra Act 15 of 1949), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a blood bank by blood banks.

2. The matter has been examined. Every blood bank carrying on the running of a blood bank shall make an application in Form 19 to the Director of Health Services within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Drugs Inspector shall ensure that register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Health Services within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra.
