CIRCULAR

To

All Assistant Drugs Controllers,

Subject: The manufacture of cosmetics by manufacturers of cosmetics under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 (30 of 2019), the National Medical Commission hereby issues the following

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the manufacture of cosmetics by manufacturers of cosmetics.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer of cosmetics carrying on the manufacture of cosmetics shall make an application in Form 19 to the Appropriate Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the manufacture of cosmetics is undertaken, and the Appropriate Authority shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the National Medical Commission.
