STANDING ORDER

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The grazing of cattle on Government waste land by graziers on Government waste land under the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948 (Maharashtra Act 67 of 1948), the Revenue Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the grazing of cattle on Government waste land by graziers on Government waste land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every grazier on Government waste land carrying on the grazing of cattle on Government waste land shall make an application in Form 5 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that register of holdings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Maharashtra.
