STANDING ORDER

To

All Director Generals,

Subject: The guiding of tourists by tourist guides under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005 (Kerala Act 8 of 2005), the General Administration Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the guiding of tourists by tourist guides.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tourist guide carrying on the guiding of tourists shall make an application in Form VIII to the Director of Tourism within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Director General shall ensure that site is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Tourism within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Kerala.
