STANDING ORDER

To

All Junior Engineers,

Subject: The drawing of water from a river by riparian owners under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954 (Rajasthan Act 21 of 1954), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the drawing of water from a river by riparian owners.

2. The matter has been examined. Every riparian owner carrying on the drawing of water from a river shall make an application in Form E to the Canal Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Junior Engineer shall ensure that works is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Canal Officer within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Rajasthan.
