STANDING ORDER

All Municipal Engineers,

Subject: The running of a parking lot by operators of a parking lot under the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888 (Maharashtra Act 3 of 1888), the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a parking lot by operators of a parking lot.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a parking lot carrying on the running of a parking lot shall make an application in Form H to the Director of Municipal Administration within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Municipal Engineer shall ensure that building is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Municipal Administration within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
