STANDING ORDER

To

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950 (Bihar Act 30 of 1950), the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 1 to the Board of Revenue within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Revenue within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Bihar.
