STANDING ORDER

To

All Divisional Canal Officers,

Subject: Fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir under the Tamil Nadu Groundwater (Development and Management) Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Groundwater (Development and Management) Act, 2003 (Tamil Nadu Act 3 of 2003), the Water Resources Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fishery in a reservoir carrying on fishing in a reservoir shall make an application in Form E to the Tribunal within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Divisional Canal Officer shall ensure that canal is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tribunal within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
