STANDING ORDER
To
All Environmental Engineers,
Subject: The operation of a plant by operators of a plant under the Karnataka Forest Act, 1964, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Forest Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 5 of 1964), the Environment Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a plant by operators of a plant.
2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a plant carrying on the operation of a plant shall make an application in Form III to the Divisional Forest Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.
3. The Environmental Engineer shall ensure that waste manifest is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Divisional Forest Officer within seven days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Karnataka.
