STANDING ORDER

To

All Motor Vehicles Inspectors,

Subject: The imparting of instruction in driving by driving schools under the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974 (Tamil Nadu Act 13 of 1974), the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the imparting of instruction in driving by driving schools.

2. The matter has been examined. Every driving school carrying on the imparting of instruction in driving shall make an application in Form 2 to the Transport Commissioner within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Motor Vehicles Inspector shall ensure that driving licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Transport Commissioner within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
