STANDING ORDER

All Defence Estates Officers,

Subject: The holding of defence land on lease by lessees of defence land under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders... Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders... Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982), the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of defence land on lease by lessees of defence land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of defence land carrying on the holding of defence land on lease shall make an application in Form A to the Director-General within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Defence Estates Officer shall ensure that canteen stock is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director-General within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
