STANDING ORDER

All Junior Engineers,

Subject: Fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir under the Maharashtra Irrigation Act, 1976, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Irrigation Act, 1976 (Maharashtra Act 38 of 1976), the Water Resources Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fishery in a reservoir carrying on fishing in a reservoir shall make an application in Form F to the River Basin Authority within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Junior Engineer shall ensure that dam is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the River Basin Authority within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Maharashtra.
