STANDING ORDER

To

All Marriage Officers,

Subject: The administration of the estate of a deceased person by executors of a will under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997 (Karnataka Act 33 of 1997), the Ports Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the administration of the estate of a deceased person by executors of a will.

2. The matter has been examined. Every executor of a will carrying on the administration of the estate of a deceased person shall make an application in Form VII to the Central Adoption Resource Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Marriage Officer shall ensure that certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Central Adoption Resource Authority within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Karnataka.
