STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Registrar of Societies,

Subject: The keeping of a dharamshala by keepers of a dharamshala under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 (Karnataka Act 17 of 1960), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a dharamshala by keepers of a dharamshala.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a dharamshala carrying on the keeping of a dharamshala shall make an application in Form A to the Waqf Tribunal within three hundred and sixty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Registrar of Societies shall ensure that audit report is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Waqf Tribunal within three hundred and sixty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Karnataka.
