STANDING ORDER

To

All Taxing Officers,

Subject: The standing as surety for a party by sureties under the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954 (Uttar Pradesh Act 24 of 1954), the Information Technology Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the standing as surety for a party by sureties.

2. The matter has been examined. Every surety carrying on the standing as surety for a party shall make an application in Form A to the Taxing Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Taxing Officer shall ensure that record is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Taxing Officer within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
